Unfortunately, cystitis symptoms are well familiar to many women: burning and pricking pain at evacuation, frequent evacuation desire at a small amount of urine, pain above pubic region. What is cystitis? As well as in all medical terms, flexion “it” designates inflammation.
Cystitis is an inflammation of bladder. One of the most widespread inflammatory diseases of urinogenital bodies which represents a serious medical problem. Women suffer from cystitis more often. It is connected with our anatomic features: women’s urethra channel is short and wide, and consequently infection gets through to a bladder much easier, than in men. About 20–25 % of women transfer cystitis in this or that form, and 10 % suffer from chronic cystitis. And, these figures grow every year.
Reasons of cystitis occurrence
Basic activator of cystitis — coliform bacterium (80 %). Ureaplasma, fungus and clamydia can also be a reason of cystitis. Chlamydial infection at women is met in 33–42 % of cases. Remember that even if activator got to a bladder, you may avoid illness. Protective forces of organism use the best efforts to prevent it. For acute cystitis action of provoking factor is necessary: overcoolings, surgical intervention, sexual intercourse.
Cystitis displays
For acute cystitis, frequent strangury, pain in the area of bladder and crotch are characteristic. The stronger inflammatory process is, the more often you feel desire for urination and the stronger pain is expressed. At heavy forms of acute cystitis patients are compelled to be wetted each 15–20 minutes day and night. Urine of a patient sick with acute cystitis can be muddy, because of considerable quantity of bacteria, leukocytes, epithelial cells and erythrocytes in it. It is known that acute cystitis is seldom accompanied by fever, but in hard cases body temperature raises, there is nausea, vomiting.
If you have cystitis
In all cases of frequent and painful urination, pains in pubes or stomach area to the right or left, it is necessary to visit a doctor-urologist. A doctor will diagnose on the basis of your complaints, urine and blood analysis. Carrying out of cystoscopic examination at acute cystitis is counter-indicative, as at acute process these manipulations are painful and can lead to illness progressing. At a chronic cystitis this research is carried out. Bladder is thus filled with a special liquid and cystoscope is entered into it — a special optical device, allowing to study bladder condition from within. If the diagnosis “cystitis” proves to be true, as a rule, a doctor prescribes antibacterial means at once, effective against infecting agents, which should be taken for no less than 7-10 days. Basic directions of cystitis treatment are: antibacterial therapy, general and local anti-inflammatory therapy, liquidation of urodynamics infringements, correction of hygienic and sexual factors, immunostimulation. Patients accept a confinement to bed, plentiful drink and exception of fried, spicy and marinaded products from a diet.
Remember! You can receive the truest and fullest information on your illness only from an attending physician. Do not self-medicate, chronic cystitis is cured much more difficult, than acute! Having been given assignment and recommendations of a doctor, observe them strictly!
