We are assured, you’ve heard such congratulation hundreds and even thousand times on a New Year’s Eve. And it is not important, whose year it was, the main thing is that it necessarily brought something unusual-new and, of course, wonderful. And we should become better and kinder this year, forgive our enemies, wish our close people health and necessarily want and can achieve all we could not do last year. So it was and will be always.
Since our childhood parents put gifts under a fur-tree, so that we could not notice them. Hung up socks filled with sweets, nuts and tangerines on a bed. A smell of tangerines is always expectation of a fairy tale and New Year. It turns out that our parents accustomed us trusting and waiting for a miracle on a New Year’s Eve. We hoped, dreamt and wrote Santa letters, hiding them under a New Year tree. And then they came to us, these gifts, from nearest shop. But we waited, waited and trusted. And we still trust.
Time passed. It seems, we are already adult and give gifts to our babies on a New Year’s Eve, but we still believe in this New Year’s miracle, we think of desires and wait for their execution tremblingly. Perhaps we can try once again?
* You can make many paper snowflakes. Write your desires on each of them. After midnight leave on a balcony and start up them downwind. Do not worry that they will be carried away on your neighbour’s balcony or in the nearest frozen pool. You just should think, write down and release your desire.
* It is said that you can embroider a treasured desire on a hem of your festive attire. Just some stitches. This can look this way: “Love” or “Friendship”. While chiming clock starts beating, put right hand on an embroidery, and say your desire aloud at midnight.
* Choose time already in twilight, maybe even after a peal of bells. Light a candle. Think of desire, looking at candle fire. Write down it on paper. If you want to get rid of something, burn the records at once. If on the contrary, you wish to get something, read the record by the light of a candle more often. And when your desire is executed, you can burn this paper with gratitude to Higher forces.
* When you dress up a New Year tree, hang up a small box with desire written on paper. 5 minutes before New year approach come to a treasured box, take it in left hand and say following words: «Box, you store my secret and it is not casual, let my desire become a reality». Then remove a box from a fur-tree and hold it in a hand before 12. Then hang it up back, but throw out desire in an open window leaf.
* Never use a particle “not” at a desire formulation.
* Write yourself a letter before New year. Describe all plans, dreams and hopes for forthcoming year in it. Put the letter in a red envelope and leave sealed to next New year.
*You can write 12 desires on 12 leaflets and put them under a pillow. In the morning on January, 1st get one of leaflets. The desire written on it should be executed in a new year.
* The most widespread way, of course, is to write down your treasured desires on a leaflet before chime. The main thing is to write small hand- so that a leaflet would be small. After that, it is necessary to curtail a leaflet, so that nobody could read written desires. Then you should put this treasured leaf in a spoon prepared in advance, and set fire. A leaflet should burn down completely. Then you should pour out ashes in a glass with champagne and drink at one draught.
* To avoid material cares in a new year, put a coin in a glass with champagne and, having drunk everything right at midnight, put a glass into place, you always store ware… Thus, not washed, it should stay for a year!
* As soon as you hear chime, think of desires on coins prepared by you in advance. Has thought? Now carry these coins in a pocket until this desire comes true.
* They say, as you meet New Year, so you will spend it. Therefore do not go to bed at 00.30, even if you meet this year alone. Try to congratulate all, necessarily visit relatives. Have fun to the full extent, and do not forget that real ladies, go to bed on a New Year’s eve … yes they do not go to bed at all on a New Year’s eve!
Other signs were also connected with celebrating of New year. On a New Year’s Eve in a strong frost they froze water in a spoon. If ice appeared in bubbles - to good health and longevity. If there was a pole in the centre - this foretold illness or even death.
There was also an original variation of a card guessing: on the night of New year girls put four card kings from a pack under a pillow. The one she will dream of or pulls out in the morning the first - will be a groom.
