7511_lyzhy_161208_b.jpgMountain-skiing tourism is a fine possibility to receive a huge charge of positive emotions and spend time perfectly. It is rest and relax on fresh winter air and simultaneously a possibility to learn skiing.

Such rest is just a winter fairy tale!

History of a mountain-skiing suit

In 1948 a Florentine fashion designer Emilio Pucci, who specialised on creation of clothes for productive leisure, showed his first models.

It occurred almost casually — he additionally earned on an Alpine mountain resort as instructor in mountain skiing. Pucci was not satisfied with existing sportswear — he appreciated convenience, comfort and wanted these clothes being beautiful. He ordered a ski overalls with elastic bands for himself

In December, 1948 «Harper`s Bazaar» published the first photos of complete ski set. An American company «Lord and Taylor» ordered E.Pucci a collection of clothes for skiing with a view of sale in USA. Thus E.Pucci anticipated an appearance of sportswear line (clothes for sports and rest), which will be actively developed in mass fashion in 1970th.

Why should you buy an expensive ski suit?
Having bought mountain skiing, necessarily get a convenient ski suit. A mountain skier is exposed to influence of many negative factors. These are wind, snow, and sometimes and rain, strong loadings during descents and long inactivity at movement upwards on the lift. A high-quality mountain-skiing clothes, including mountain-skiing suits and overalls, or separate mountain-skiing jackets and trousers, and, except that, all necessary underwear from thermolinen, T-shirts and jackets to professional socks, so favourite by mountains subjugators.

Professional mountain-skiing clothes should trace physical condition of a mountain skier accurately: to warm him when he is cold, deduce sweat operatively, when he is hot, thus without passing moisture from the outside. Well and besides - being attractive is obligatory.

Ski clothes for sportsmen are always fitting, as loose cut increases resistance to air, and in sports each fractions of a second are important. The most widespread cut - one-piece snowsuit.

Now they started producing a complete set - a jacket and trousers (also fitting). Thus jacket should be fastened to trousers by means of zipper. It is connected by the fact that at run on skis fitting jacket tends to “be lifted up” upwards, opening waist, and a sportsman have no time to check it constantly

Sports overalls, and also jackets and trousers usually have no pockets, as they are not necessary on a line during race. A collar and cuffs should be fitting, so that snow would not get under them.

Zippers, clasping overalls or jacket, have internal valve for protection against wind. Thus quite often clasping zipper on overalls can present not only in front, but also on shoulders, and on a back.

Racing ski overalls for running skis are made of fabrics on the basis of lucra fibre.

Training ski suits are made from warmed fabrics on the same basis.

Warmed ski suits are a sports jacket and self-dumps trousers made from fabrics of groups duspa or taslan with heater on a basis of synthetical fibres.

A suit of professional skier should be three-layer

The first layer adjoins directly to a skin, it allows body breathing. Thermolinen is a special underwear which carries out some functions. It keeps heat and allows not to freeze even in the coldest day. Such effect is reached at the expense of special materials which are used for its manufacture. Special weaving with a considerable quantity of cells creates an air layer between body and environment, which heats up at the expense of heat evolved by body. Thus fabric for thermolinen is very thin, and majority of models has no seams and are absolutely imperceptible under clothes.

Manufacturers produce many types of thermolinen, and each of them is used in different situations. Therefore so that thermolinen will really benefit, it is necessary to choose it very carefully. And not only on size, but also purpose. There is linen for cool, cold and very cold weather, and also sports thermolinen for any weather, which main objective is more likely not to warm, but deduce moisture from organism and carry out thermoregulation.

The second layer is heater. This layer is usually made of down (eider or goose) or a nonwoven heater. It is better to avoid synthetic winterizer in sports suits, as it “breathes” badly, and loses to 28 % of thermal properties after first washing.

And the third layer - protective. It should not pass moisture from  rain or snow, protects from wind and lets out vapor outside. Besides, external layer should be strong enough and wearproof. During falling knees, shoulders and elbows suffer more often. Therefore clothes should be necessarily strengthened in these parts.

One more important property a good mountain-skiing suit should have – resistance to a strong wind. Membranous fabrics which deduce moisture well, but thus do not pass it inside are convenient here. Thus membrane can be either from interior side of material (a two-layer fabric), or between two layers of material (a three-layer fabric).

In the cheapest fabrics water resistance is reached at the expense of special impregnations, and also use of not moistened threads in combination to dense structure of weaving. Such fabrics either get wet poorly, but “breathe” badly, or on the contrary, “breathe” well, but thus get wet easily.

Ski suits for tourists or just fans of walks differ from sports, both racing, and amateur.

First, they have an absolutely loose cut - degree of resistance to wind is not so important here, more attention is given to appearance, design of a suit.

Secondly, they are warmer, as a skier does not run on walk, but just goes for a drive. In this class of ski clothes you can meet overalls very seldom, a complete set of jacket and trousers are standard here.

Waistcoats are a separate question in ski clothes. A waistcoat is very convenient, as it can be dressed both on an overalls or sweater, and on a jacket as additional warming.

How much a good mountain-skiing suit costs?

An average price for mountain-skiing suits - from $300 to $450. The cheapest good mountain-skiing suits stand from $150 to $250. Usually in such suits fabrics with impregnation are used, and seams are not glued. Such mountain-skiing clothes will hardly last longer than one season. For more expensive clothes they use membranous fabrics. Seams in such suits are processed by impregnation, which protects from water worse, than gluing.

Good mountain rest!
